Something to Think About

Victims or Jezebels?

There are several important questions associated with the sex trafficking information movement going on in America today. Here are some of them. What is sex trafficking? Does it just include young women in other countries? Does it include prostitutes and strippers? Is it just about kidnapping children and sex slavery? Is sex trafficking a local problem? I believe all of the above mentioned are part of the “Big Picture” of sex trafficking, but none of those are the most important question.

The most important question about sex trafficking is, are the women involved Victims or Jezebel’s? Are they the happy beautiful women that drive luxury cars, and fly around the country in private jets and make lots of money that the television portrays? Or are they someone’s daughter, mother, sister, or wife that were molested as children, raped, abandoned, abused or forgotten that have no hope? The latter is the more prevalent of the two scenarios.

Most of the women that are the so called sex trafficked are hurt, broken, molested, abandoned, without hope, and or trapped in this lifestyle. They come in all shapes, colors, and sizes. Did you know that most of the women get very little or none of the money that their paid for sex? They don’t have cars. They are strung out on drugs to kill the pain of what they’re doing. They are dirty, hungry, beat up, sexually abused by their pimp, the trick/john, or club owner. They are forced to do things you couldn’t even dream of. Wow, what a great elegant life, right? Doesn’t sound like a Player to me! Doesn’t sound like fun to me. Only a victim would stay in that kind of situation.

You may be thinking, why, why would they stay in that situation? They don’t have a choice! They don’t have hope for a future. The shame what being molested and what they've done, the threat of bodily harm to them and their families, addition to drugs by the pimp holds them there trapped! Who would want them? Who would marry a girl that has had sex with any man that will pay? What about diseases? Taking her home to meet the family? Oh, what about the children they have, the pimps children, who would love a pimps kid? Get the picture now? They are trapped! They are definitely victims! Do you see these women in a different light now? Can you love these women?

The only way out for them is to be rescued and taken away from the abuse. They must be loved, protected and educated. Please pray with us at Restored Hope Ministries as we take on this great challenge. If you would like to get involved please contact us at sam.pollinzi@restoredhopeministries.org

"Write the vision, And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry. (Habakkuk 2:2-3)

RHM Dallas Graduation

It’s been a year in the making. The journey was filled with laughter and tears, fears and doubts, fun times and sad times. Girls have transformed into women. Hurts have turned to joy! We called this Graduation!

Four of our RHM ladies have graduated in the past two months. We are so proud of them. Each had their own battles and struggles while here but never gave up! That’s a key point, you’ll never loose unless you give up! You can stumble and fall, get frustrated and mad but keep your eye on the prize, Graduation!

These four ladies worked the program, kept the rules, (well most of them) and fought their way to the end. Let’s call them Christina, Emma, Hannah, and Natalie. Each of these women in the Bible did great things for the kingdom of God.

Christina now works at a large Financial Corporation, doing very well and looking for an apartment. She has paid most of her debt from getting into trouble and completed most of her conditions of probation. She has taken care of all her ID paper work and passport and is what we call “legal”. She wants to come back and give back to the ministry.

Emma graduated from a well-known Beauty College while she was a resident and is now working in that field in an upscale salon here in Dallas. She has completed all her legal requirements from the court and she has paid her fines. She has come out of her shell and has shown us all her ability to sing and worship God. She is looking for an apartment and plans to stay in touch also.

Hannah, oh Hannah! Hannah had a really tough time but she hung in there and absolutely refused to give up. She is a loved employee of a well know coffee shop down the street and is quickly becoming a leader there. She moved into her own place and has a new car and comes to see us almost every day.

Natalie was our first graduate. She is a manager at a well know French café. She has a car and is working to get her daughter back. She hangs with us all the time. She comes to classes and goes to church with us. She has a beautiful apartment one block away and is doing very well.

We are so proud of these girls and we are thankful to God that the program is a success. We understand every girl that comes through RHM will not graduate but we will thank God for all the ones that will.
